Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her role as Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she is responsible covering everything from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the advent and growth in space travel. Kristin was born into the space sector as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years, she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations for FOX News. The reporter also reported on the 2020 presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations to fight the coronavirus. In addition, she went on trips with President Trump and Vice President Trump often. It included a secret trip to Afghanistan. Kristin worked her way through the local news markets of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to joining the network. She won the Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman led her to found Field Mouse Films which specialized creating documentary-style films for clients of corporate nature, including Uber Hotels and Resorts as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Boston University. She lives with her husband and their two children in Washington, D.C., and she has a 3 year old daughter.
